Gang Beasts is a local multiplayer, beat ‘em up game developed by Boneleaf. There can be up to eight players and are distinguished by different colors. The player also have the option of choosing a costume, from a chicken outfit to a normal business casual outfit. The objective for all players is to get the rest of the players out of the arena. There are 14 levels the players can choose from.

Players can punch, kick, grab, pick up, and headbutt other players. If a player get hit enough they can get knocked out. This gives other players the opportunity to pick them up and throw, or drop, them out of the arena.

There are different arenas the players can choose from. Some are plain and the players have to throw their opponents out of the map. However, some of the arenas have hazards that could help players defeat their opponents. For example, there is a map called “Grinder.” This level has metal-like machinery that spins in the middle of the level and on the sides. If a player gets thrown into one of them, or gets stuck, they are “ground” up and are then dropped out of the map until the next round starts.

The matches last until one or no players are left standing. Along with picking the levels and the color and costume of the characters, players can also set how many round there will be. This ranges from a sudden death type of match, with one life, or players can choose to have up to 99 rounds.
